The ABC Movement promotes the principles and practices of intimacy coordination, a role that has become increasingly important in professional theater and film. We have tailored these tools to be accessible and relevant for high school students.

~ Think of us as your closeness coaches! ~

Our movement offers services that include discussions on how to communicate and advocate for clear boundaries, as well as resources to help ensure your production is set up for success both before and during the show. We aim to establish a new standard for best practices in theater. For an in-depth overview of the ABC Movement’s learning outcomes, you can download the document below.

If you need more information, please feel free to complete the intake form, and we will follow up with you to schedule a free phone conversation to determine how we can best support you and your program.

Let’s break it down…

Our Offerings

  • This includes a FREE 30 minute consultation to discuss how and when this workshop would fit best with your program.

This 90-minute workshop includes discussions and interactive activities to create a BRAVE space, a resource kit, and a supplemental packet to continue utilizing the learned tools during rehearsals and shows.

  • For those intimate moments, no matter how small, we can collaborate with the director and actors to stage the kiss, hand-hold, hug, and close choreography, etc. all while staying within the performers’ boundaries.

  • This workshop builds upon the ABC Movement, providing a refresher and deeper exploration of intimacy coordination techniques. For instance, with different casts for a fall play and spring musical, a review of core ABC Movement tools is essential, along with in-depth exploration for returning performers.

  • Problems are less likely to arise when students receive all necessary information at the beginning of the process, empowering them to make informed decisions about auditions. We will review the script, noting content warnings, close moments, and providing relevant information for both digital and physical audition forms.

  • If a workshop is out of your reach, we can provide you with the kits that come with the ABC Movement workshop and a comprehensive packet of tools to implement these best practices.
